Bought a $3 bag of dried beans and it changed my week

I was grabbing stuff for chili and almost got the canned kind, but the dried ones were right next to them. A one pound bag was under three bucks. Soaked them overnight, cooked a huge pot, and it made enough for three meals. I used half for chili and the other half in a rice bowl. Anyone have other cheap ways to use up a ton of beans?

Honestly, my bean cooking usually ends with me staring at a pot of vaguely pebble-flavored water. Your success is impressive. For using them up, blending some with garlic and lemon juice makes a decent bean dip that’s cheaper than hummus. Also, they freeze pretty well, so you can just toss portions in the freezer for future lazy meals.

Ever get that weird gritty texture too or is it just me?

Hold on, you got a full pound of dried beans for under three dollars? Where is this magical store? I'm lucky to find them for five bucks here. That price alone is a win. For using them up, I just mash some with a fork, add an egg and breadcrumbs, and make bean burgers. They're not fancy, but they work.
