Update: My brother and I finally fixed the backyard brick oven
Took us all Saturday. Figured out the old mortar recipe. Kids love the pizza now.

Glad you got yours working. We rebuilt the base of our old oven a few years back and mixing that mortar by hand was a serious job. Made a huge mess but getting the recipe right changed everything. Nothing beats pizza cooked over real wood fire. That kind of project sticks with you way more than just ordering takeout. Totally worth the sore muscles.
