Bought a $300 brick tongs setup and thought I wasted my money

For 2 weeks I was carrying bricks by hand up a ladder in Tacoma and my back was killing me, then a guy on the crew handed me his tongs and I did 3x the work in half the time. Now I feel dumb for waiting so long, anyone else got a tool they argued against for a while before finally caving?
