Tried mushroom foraging with a field guide AND an app, the winner surprised me
I spent last Saturday in Muir Woods comparing a $25 mushroom book against a free identification app for finding chanterelles. The book gave way better context on lookalikes, but the app got me to my first legal harvest in 2 hours flat. Am I crazy for thinking the old-school method is still safer for beginners, or is tech just the faster path?
