My coffee shop did a logo refresh and a voice refresh, one of them actually did something
So I run a small coffee shop in Portland and back in January we paid a designer $1,200 to redo our logo. New colors, new font, the whole thing. Everyone loved it for about a week. Then nothing changed. Same customers, same slow Tuesdays. A couple months later we sat down and rewrote how we talk to people instead. Menu descriptions, the little signs by the register, even our replies on Instagram. That one cost us nothing but a few hours. Within 6 weeks our morning regulars went from about 40 to almost 65 people. Turns out the logo made us look nicer but the voice made us feel like a place people knew. The weird part is nobody has mentioned the new logo once. People quote our dumb signs all the time though. Wondering if anyone else here has spent real money on visuals and gotten way more out of just changing how the brand talks.
