Took me 6 hours to figure out why my monstera leaf was dripping water every morning
I noticed little drops on the tips of my monstera leaves around 7am for like two weeks straight and I panicked thinking it had some kind of rot. Turned out it was just guttation, which is when roots push water out overnight because the soil stays too wet and the plant can't breathe it all out. I dug into it for 6 hours across two evenings reading old botany forum threads and a plant physiology PDF from UC Davis before it clicked. So I cut back my watering to every 10 days here in my dry apartment and the dripping stopped in 3 days. Has anyone else freaked out over guttation before they knew what it was?
