Watched the Percy Jackson show before reading the books and now I can't go back
Everyone in my book club said I had to read the books first, but I watched the Disney+ show last year because my kid begged me. I finally read The Lightning Thief in April and honestly the show fixed stuff that bugged me, like giving Annabeth more to do in the first few episodes. The book felt slower to me and I kept picturing the show versions of the characters. Now my club thinks I'm nuts for saying the adaptation is better than the source. Has anyone else liked a show or movie more than the book it came from?
