I thought the 'Dune' movies would be a mess but the second one proved me wrong

I read the book years ago and always thought the world was too weird for a big movie. When the first one came out, I was sure they'd cut too much. But after seeing 'Dune: Part Two' last month, the way they handled the Fremen culture and Paul's change was spot on. The scene with the sandworm ride felt exactly like I pictured it. Has anyone else had a book adaptation win them over like that?

Reminds me of hating the Lord of the Rings movies until I finally watched them.

Okay but is it really that deep though... it's just a movie about space worms and sand. They did a fine job but people are acting like it changed their life.

Remember when everyone was obsessed with that movie about the blue people... it was just tall blue cat people in a forest. People got the same way about that. Art hits everyone different, you know? Some folks just connect with a story in a weird way.
