I was totally skeptical about audiobooks counting as reading for book club...

My book club in Austin had this huge debate last month about whether audiobooks should count toward our monthly reading list. I was on the side that said nope, you gotta actually read the words on the page lol. But then I took a road trip to Dallas and decided to test it with 'Project Hail Mary' since I kept hearing people rave about it. I finished the whole 16 hour audiobook in like 3 days of driving and I swear I remembered every detail better than when I read a physical book. The narrator did different voices and honestly it made the science parts way easier to follow. Now I'm the one arguing in favor of audiobooks at our meetings and some people still think it's cheating. Has anyone else's club changed their rules on this?

Disabled folks have entered the chat. Audiobooks are accessibility.

Disabled folks have entered the chat" is right. My friend has a vision thing and audiobooks are literally the only way she can read for fun now, she's so grateful for them.
