Tried torquing my buddy's boiler studs by feel instead of spec, cost him $180
I was helping my buddy on a small firetube job in Gary last month and told him I could snug the studs by feel since the torque wrench was back at the shop. Ended up stretching two of them and we had to cut them out and redo the whole flange. He was cool about it but said 'that's what you get for guessing.' Anyone else ever skip the wrench and pay for it later?
