Torque wrench calibration check took me 4 hours

I always figured my torque wrench was fine until I hit a stubborn bolt on a header job last Tuesday. Ran a calibration test with a borrowed rig and it was off by 18 ft-lbs, which explains why I kept chasing leaks. How often do you guys actually verify yours, or is it just me?

Read somewhere that most folks never check theirs until something's already stripped.
