Stick welding vs TIG on outdoor structural repair
I chose stick over TIG for fixing a support beam on a bridge near Pittsburgh last month. Guys said TIG would give a cleaner weld, but with the wind and rust, stick held up way better in my experience. Anyone else prefer the old ways when conditions are rough?

Spent 3 hours under a bridge getting rained on. Stick never quit on me.

Honestly that stick really came through for you. Tbh I had a similar thing with a big branch I found during a storm last year, thing held up like a champ through the whole thing.
