Rented a towable boom lift instead of buying, saved my back and my wallet on a 3 week job near Fresno

I was dead set on buying one after the first week, but the rental bill came to about $800 and my buddy said just keep leasing it for this gig. Turns out the machine sat idle half the time while we did prep work, so owning it would've been a $15k mistake. Anyone else regret any big tool purchases after a single project?

Well now, I read somewhere that most folks only use their big toys maybe a dozen times before they gather dust. Sounds like you dodged a real bullet there. Nothing worse than watching a shiny machine sit in the yard, reminding you of the payment you're not making.
