Used a coal forge for 6 years, finally tried a propane one in Toledo and I'm torn
For about 6 years I ran everything through a coal forge I built from a brake drum, mostly because that's what the guy who taught me in Toledo used. A buddy lent me his propane setup for a week back in March and I could actually see my work and keep a steady heat without babysitting the fire. Still not sure I'll make the change though, since coal is way cheaper here and I like the slower pace. Anyone else made that jump, and did you end up missing the fire tending part or not really?
