Found a cheap way to keep my anvil from walking away

My anvil kept sliding around on the stump no matter how much I tightened the chains. Tried some rubber matting under it but that just squished out after a few hits. Last week I grabbed a tube of liquid nails and spread a thick bead around the base of the stump where it meets the anvil. Let it cure for 24 hours and now that thing stays put even when I'm really hammering down. Has anyone else found a simple fix like this for anvil stability?

Liquid nails" huh? I've had good luck with a thick layer of construction adhesive under the stump itself. Just a bead around the edge and it's stuck solid. Your mileage may vary but for twenty bucks it's worth a shot.

Thick glue under it just traps moisture and rots the wood faster, making the whole thing fail anyway.
