The librarian who told me to stop skipping the opening credits

I was at the public library downtown last Tuesday browsing their DVD section when an older librarian walked up and said I was missing half the story by jumping straight to the episode. She told me that showrunners hide clues and mood setting in those first 90 seconds, and that I should treat them like a chapter intro instead of a commercial. Has anyone else tried watching full credits and actually noticed details they would have missed?

Clues in the credits? That's just wasted time, lmao.

I read somewhere that some shows actually hide character motivations in the background during the credits, like a specific object that means something later. It sounds kinda pretentious but I tried it with Severance and caught a weird symbol I never noticed before. So maybe that librarian was onto something even if she came off a little strong about it.
