Moved to a new city 5 years ago today and I still get lost driving home sometimes
Five years ago today I loaded up my truck in Springfield and moved 400 miles east for a job I wasn't even sure I wanted. My first month I ate cereal for dinner 19 nights because I didn't know a single person to grab food with. Now I've got a crew of guys I fish with and a favorite taco spot, but I still take the long way home sometimes just out of habit. For anyone who made a big move, how long did it take before the new place actually started feeling like home?
Idk, maybe it never really does and that's fine? Five years in you've got your fishing guys and your taco spot, so who cares if the drive home is still a little fuzzy, that just means you're paying attention instead of running on autopilot.
