Can we talk about how I moved 1,200 miles to Austin and my grocery bill went down $80 a month?
When I left my hometown in Ohio three years ago for a job in Austin, I figured my cost of living would go straight up. A coworker told me about a stat from some moving site that said people who relocate for work usually spend 15% more on food in the new city. For me it was the opposite. My local HEB has cheaper produce than the store back home, and I cook way more now since I live alone. Did anyone else get surprised by a number like that when they moved?
