Vent: A customer's seatpost was so stuck I had to use a bench vise and a cheater bar
This guy brought in a steel frame from the 80s, and the aluminum post was totally seized. I tried everything, even heating the seat tube with a heat gun. In the end, we had to clamp the frame in the vise and use a four foot pipe on the post to get it to budge. Anyone else have a go-to method for a truly frozen seatpost?

Hold up, you put the whole frame in a bench vise? I can't get over that part. I'd be so scared of crushing the seat tube or putting a dent in the old steel. That's a last resort move for sure, you must have been out of all other ideas.

A four foot cheater bar on a seatpost... that's a level of stuck I can't even picture. You must have been worried about twisting the whole frame in half. I've seen some bad ones but needing a bench vise is a whole different story. That old steel and aluminum combo is just a recipe for disaster after a few decades.
