Tuesday at the shop: 11 tune-ups in one day and a seized bottom bracket on a '97 Rockhopper
Last Tuesday we had 11 tune-ups booked at the shop in Boise and it felt like everything that could go wrong did. Around 2pm a guy rolls in with a '97 Rockhopper that had a bottom bracket so seized we had to soak it in PB Blaster and use a breaker bar with a cheater pipe just to crack it loose. My co-worker Dave said 'that thing's been rusted since Clinton was in office' and honestly he wasn't wrong. What's your go-to trick when a bottom bracket is fused to the frame like that?
