The 20 minute torque wrench check that saved my butt on 14 bikes today

Honestly I never thought about calibration on my torque wrench until a buddy in Portland said he checks his every 3 months with a simple beam style gauge. Tbh I figured mine was fine since it's only 2 years old, but the test showed it was reading about 15% low on the 5 Nm setting. Ngl that explains all those creaky seatposts and stripped carbon clamp bolts I've been chasing lately. I just spent my lunch break testing all three of my wrenches and now I'm wondering how often you guys actually calibrate yours or if you just trust them forever?
