A kid at the Tucson bike swap asked me to true his wheel and then called me his teacher
Last month at the bike swap in Tucson this 13 year old kid rolled up with a wobbly rear wheel and a spoke wrench he clearly just bought, so I showed him how to check tension by feel and pluck. He got it almost perfect on his own after like 20 minutes and looked up and called me his teacher right there in front of everyone. Has anyone else had a moment like that where passing on one small trick felt better than fixing the wheel yourself?
