Visited my grandma's old kitchen and her muffin trick hit different
Went through her cabinets last Saturday and found a scratched glass jar she used to keep bacon grease in, and now I'm thinking about how she never measured anything but her cornbread always came out perfect, so has anyone else inherited an older relative's weird little system that just works better than any gadget you own?

Honestly, I used to be all about precision, measuring cups, and digital scales. Thought my grandma's whole "handful of this" method was just her being old school and sloppy. But then I tried her biscuit recipe with the bacon grease jar, no measuring, just eyeballing it like she always did, and it came out better than it ever had with my fancy gear. It kinda blew my mind that my gadgets were actually holding me back somehow. Now I get why those scratched jars and weird spoons matter more than half the stuff in my kitchen drawer.
