My nonstick pan died at 450 degrees on Sunday and I'm done babying cookware
Threw my $40 nonstick in the oven at 450 to finish some chicken thighs, watched the coating bubble and peel right off, and honestly the cheap $12 cast iron I grabbed at a garage sale in Fresno has outlived every fancy pan I've owned, so am I crazy for thinking nonstick is just a scam that costs us money every few years?
Nonstick is a rental, cast iron is a mortgage. You pay again and again for something that quits on you in a couple years, while the twelve dollar garage sale pan just keeps going forever. Teflon is the scam of the century.
