Dropped $30 on a garlic rock and actually love it

I saw this weird garlic crusher shaped like a rock at a kitchen store and bought it on a whim. It's basically a heavy stone that you smash garlic with, no peeling required. I've used it every day for two weeks now and it saves me like 5 minutes per meal. The clean up is just rinsing it off, no little garlic bits stuck in a press. Has anyone else tried one of those or am I just a sucker for kitschy kitchen gadgets?

My husband bought one of those and now he refuses to use any other garlic tool, even though he loses it in the drawer all the time. Does the stone ever chip or crack after a few months of smashing?

Man, that totally hits home. I got one of those as a gift and was super skeptical at first, but now I'm completely hooked (it's weirdly satisfying). Haven't had any chipping issues with mine yet, fingers crossed it holds up.
