That clipper oil I ignored for years finally made me a believer

I always thought any old oil would work on my Andis clippers. Last month I finally grabbed a bottle of the real stuff from the barber supply shop on Grand Avenue. After 3 weeks of using it, the blades are running cooler and I haven't had a single pull. Anyone else stick with cheap stuff forever before making the switch?

You ever notice how the cheap stuff seems fine until you actually compare it side by side with the real deal? I was the same way, using 3-in-1 oil for years before a barber buddy set me straight with a bottle of Andis clipper oil. The difference in heat and smoothness is night and day once you give it a fair shot.

I was using WD-40 on my Oster clippers for almost five years. A friend who grooms dogs for a living finally told me to knock it off and handed me a bottle of Wahl clipper oil. I figured oil is oil, but after the first use I could feel the difference in how smooth the blades ran. No more burning smell after ten minutes of trimming either. The blades stayed cooler and I didn't have to stop as often to let them rest. I still think about all those years I was practically cooking my equipment with the wrong stuff.
