Spent 2 years fading with the wrong clipper guard numbers

I was doing fades for like 2 years thinking a 1.5 guard was the same as a 1 guard with the lever half open. Then a customer asked why his fade looked choppy and I realized I had been mixing up my Andis and Wahl guard numbering systems. The Andis #1 is a 3mm but the Wahl #1 is only 2mm. Felt like a COMPLETE idiot when I finally checked the package. Has anyone else mixed up guard sizes between brands?

Felt like a COMPLETE idiot" - bro, that's just the barber version of trying to put a square peg in a round hole for two years straight. I've been there though, except I spent a whole weekend running a 4 guard on top thinking it was a 0.5 because the numbers wore off and I guessed. Customer walked out looking like a surprised hedgehog. You're not alone, but at least now you know to check the box instead of just vibing it out like I did.

Oh man, @max_ramirez48 I bet the surprised hedgehog look was still better than the time I asked my buddy to "just even out the back" and he took it as permission to freehand a whole state map back there...
