I used to think a $30 pair of clippers was fine, but after trying a $150 pair for a month, the difference is night and day.

Oh man, I totally get that feeling! But honestly, the real sweet spot for me was around the $80 mark. The $30 ones always pulled my hair, and the super expensive ones are amazing but maybe overkill for a simple home cut. Once you hit that mid-range quality, the jump up gets way smaller.

Night and day" feels like a stretch. I've used cheap clippers for years and they get the job done. I guess if you have the hair type @grace_patel's barber mentioned, maybe it matters more. For most people doing a basic trim, it just seems like paying a lot for a small upgrade.
