Neighbor gave me a half-dead rose bush 2 years ago - it finally bloomed this morning

My neighbor Mrs. Garcia saw me struggling with bare dirt along my fence line back in spring of 2022 and just handed me this scraggly rose bush she was gonna toss. I stuck it in the ground on a whim and pretty much ignored it. This morning I walked out with my coffee and saw 3 big red blooms on it - felt like she gave me a gift twice. Has anyone else had a plant surprise you way later than you expected?

Mrs. Garcia handing it to you twice" lol that's so sweet, I had a lavender I thought was dead come back after a whole year once.

Lavender's a shrub, not a bulb. Different kind of comeback.
