I just hit 50 pounds of tomatoes from my 4 raised beds this year

I always thought that number was just for people with huge gardens, but my little setup in the Raleigh suburbs actually did it. What finally convinced me was weighing every single harvest in an old grocery bag on my kitchen scale. What's the most you've ever pulled from a small space?

I read a gardening book from the library that swore by dense planting in small beds. The author claimed she got 40 pounds of peppers from a 4x8 plot one summer. Your tomato haul proves the point, weighing everything is the only way to really know.

Yeah, weighing is the only way to know for sure.

My kitchen scale got more use than my stove last summer, just from weighing tomatoes. It's easy to guess wrong by half if you're just eyeballing it. I saw what finley_wells66 posted about that pepper harvest, and that's the perfect example. You don't know what you're really bringing in until you put it on the scale, right? What did you end up growing the most of this year?
