Best backyard day in years happened last Saturday
We finally got that fire pit built after months of planning, and I grilled burgers while the kids roasted marshmallows until 9pm. Has anyone else found that string lights completely change the feel of a backyard?

The string lights really are the game changer. We hung some up last summer and it turned our basic patio into a spot where people actually want to hang out after dark. We went with the warm yellow ones, not the cool white, and it makes the whole space feel like a diner parking lot in the best possible way. Plus they keep the mosquitoes away a little, or at least make them easier to see coming. Just make sure you buy the outdoor rated ones, because I had to replace the first batch after the first rain.

Warm yellow or bust, no question. Cool white just makes everything look like a operating room.
