My best B2B leads came from a niche Slack group, not LinkedIn

I spent the last 6 months pouring effort into LinkedIn outreach and only closed 2 deals, but last week I posted a question in a supply chain manager Slack channel and got 14 qualified leads in 48 hours. It seems like everyone's fighting for attention where the noise is loudest, but the real decision makers are hanging out in private communities. Has anyone else shifted their budget away from big platforms toward these smaller groups, and how do you measure the ROI fairly?

that 14 leads in 48 hours part hit home hard, cause i did the same thing last quarter. went all in on linkedin ads and posts, got maybe 3 decent convos total. then i hopped into a private slack for logistics ops folks, answered a couple questions about routing issues, and boom, 2 serious buyers reached out to me directly within a week. my take is roi gets easier to track when you're in those groups cause the conversations are way more specific, people ask for exactly what they need. i just keep a simple spreadsheet, note where each lead came from and what they asked, then compare close rates. the smaller groups win every time for me so far, but i still use linkedin for brand stuff, just not for direct selling. you gotta be real in those groups too, not just pitch, and that's where the trust builds fast.
