Can we talk about how I wrote off crimp gauges until the Grand Rapids job
I always used the old swage tool on every harness rebuild for 9 years. Then a guy on the Grand Rapids hangar crew handed me his crimp gauge for a connector on a King Air and I figured it was a waste of time. Two weeks later I checked the pull strength on my old swages and found 3 of them slipping at half the spec load. Bought my own gauge the next day and haven't touched the swage since. Anyone got a brand that holds calibration longer than 6 months?
