Tried using a heat gun on a plastic bumper for a 2018 Civic to soften a dent, ended up with a weird ripple pattern I can't get out.

Ugh, did you read that thing about the plastic memory? I saw a video where a guy explained that heating it too fast or too much makes the plastic want to go back to its molded shape, not the flat shape you want. That ripple is probably the plastic's original form fighting you. You might have to cool it down in the right position now, which sounds super tricky.

My buddy tried that once and ended up with a warped dashboard trim piece. He never got the ripple out.
