Am I the only one who thinks factory paint jobs are getting worse?

I visited a Ford dealership last week and looked at a 2025 F-150 on the lot. The orange peel on the hood was way worse than anything I'd fix on a $500 respray, and this is a $60k truck straight from the factory. Has anyone else noticed this trend or am I just being too picky?

Yeah that orange peel thing is brutal. @morgan.charlie I swear I saw the exact same mess on a Tundra at a Toyota lot here in Phoenix last month, the hood looked like it had some kind of wavy skin condition. It got me thinking about how my uncle who worked at a body shop in the 90s used to say they'd get yelled at for half that much texture on a repaint. Makes you wonder if the factories just don't care anymore since they know people will drive off the lot anyway.

Not just you. Saw the same crap on a new Ram, awful orange peel everywhere.
