Spent $300 on a heated visor and it was a total waste

I bought a heated visor for my snowmobile helmet from a local shop up in Bemidji. Thought it would solve fogging issues on cold rides. First trip out at 10 degrees, it fogged up worse than my regular shield. Took it back and the guy said I should've gotten a breath box instead for $40. Anyone else skip the fancy stuff and go simple?

Used to think more money meant better gear, but that heated visor story changes things for me. I bought a similar one for my bike helmet last winter, same problem at 15 degrees. Fogged up and the heating element just made it worse somehow. Swapped it for a simple anti-fog insert and a neck gaiter, works way better. Sometimes the expensive stuff is just over-engineered junk.

Honestly, is foggy shield really that big of a deal? People act like it's life or death when you just gotta crack the shield for a second and keep moving.
