Old timer at the trailhead taught me more in 5 minutes than YouTube ever did

Back in 2018 I was out near the Tug Hill Plateau in New York, struggling to get my sled started in single digit temps. An older guy pulling in on a beat up 90s Skandic just watched me for a minute, then walked over and said 'your choke ain't the problem, you're flooding it.' He showed me this trick where you hold the throttle wide open and pull the cord 3 times to clear the cylinder. I'd never heard that before and it worked on the first try. Been doing it ever since on cold mornings. Anybody else learn a stupid simple trick from an old sled head that changed how you ride?

Buddy of mine learned to warm his grips by revving twice then letting it idle. Worked every time.
