Got called out for my old way of packing the trailer
A buddy at the trailhead in Eagle River told me I was loading my sled wrong and putting too much strain on the front of my ATV trailer. He said, 'You're putting all the weight forward, the tongue weight is way off.' I moved the sled back about 8 inches on the deck and it made a huge difference. The ride home was way smoother and the trailer didn't fishtail once. Anyone else have a specific loading trick for a single sled on a smaller trailer?

People get so dramatic about tongue weight. It's not like you were hauling a house, it's one sled. Sure, maybe it rides a bit better now, but was it really that dangerous before? Trailers are tougher than we give them credit for.

Honestly I wonder how much of it is just people overthinking things. Trailers bounce around all the time and they hold up fine. Unless you're way overloaded its probably not the end of the world.

Read that again. One sled? Buddy, that's a 600 pound machine on wheels. Tongue weight matters.
