First night with my new star tracker, old photos look so flat now

I used to shoot everything on a fixed tripod. Max exposure 15 seconds before star trails showed up. Then last month I got a cheap star tracker for my DSLR. That first clear night I took 2 minute subs of Orion and the difference is wild. The nebula actually shows color, not just a gray smudge. Now I'm going back and reprocessing my old shots with new software. Anyone else find that upgrading one piece of gear makes all your old work look bad?
