Showerthought: I used to make my grocery list from memory and now I do it in the store aisle
For about 6 years I wrote a list on the back of an envelope every Sunday night, and I still forgot stuff at the store at least half the time. Last March I started building the list while standing in my pantry, phone in hand, and my forgotten item count dropped from like 5 a trip to maybe 1. Sounds dumb but walking the aisles with my cabinet open in my head actually works better than sitting at the table guessing. My grocery bill went from around $190 a week to $160, mostly because I stopped buying doubles of stuff I already had. Curious if anyone else switched their list making to the pantry instead of the kitchen table, or am I just late to this.
