Posting my issue yesterday showed me a flaw in the reply system.

Many folks say it works fine, but I think real answers get drowned out. Something has to change.

But a crowded counter you can at least wait your turn. Online, the good stuff just gets buried forever. What's a fix that actually works? Just showing "most replies" isn't cutting it. The system needs to highlight useful answers, not just active threads.

Back in the day, I figured online forums would beat any crowded counter. Then I saw how the 'most replies' filter just boosts noisy threads, not helpful ones. Like, last week a deep answer with two replies was below a rant with fifty. In person, even in a crowd, you can pick out the expert voice if you listen close.
