Scraper blade flip during a quilt class fixed my binding problem

I used to fight with binding corners for years, always getting bunched fabric. Last Saturday at a quilt guild meetup in Dayton, this older lady watched me for two minutes and told me to flip my scraper blade to the dull side when pressing seams. I tried it on the next strip and the fabric glided instead of catching. Now I keep two scrapers on my desk, one sharp for batting and one dull for binding. Has anyone else found a weird tool hack that saves their fingers? I'm curious what else I'm missing.
