That dig in Arizona where my trowel broke mid-sweep
I was out near Sedona last spring on a Hohokam site, and my trusty trowel snapped in half while I was scraping back a pit house floor. Ended up using a sharpened stick for the rest of the day, and honestly it worked fine until I could borrow a proper tool. Has anyone else had to improvise on site with weird replacements?

Wait, isn't having your trowel break kind of a blessing in disguise? Sometimes going back to basics with a stick or a rock makes you a better digger than relying on fancy gear.

Totally agree, I snapped my cheap trowel last summer and that old stick I grabbed taught me more about soil than my fancy one ever did.
