Am I the only one who thinks the new carbon fiber pole saws are overhyped?
I spent $650 on one last spring thinking it would be a game-changer for my pruning jobs. The weight savings are nice, but the flex in the sections makes precise cuts way harder than with my old aluminum one... especially on anything over 15 feet. Anyone else find they just don't have the same feel?

Man, I actually love mine! That flex you mentioned, I found it helps on windy days. The pole moves with the branch instead of fighting it. Took me a few big jobs to get the hang of the feel, but now I can drop a limb right between two fences with it. My old aluminum one would just bounce off and scare me half to death.

Wait, you're using a pole saw on a windy day? That sounds like a recipe for disaster... I get nervous just using a ladder when there's a breeze. The idea of a wobbly carbon fiber pole swinging around near fences with a running chainsaw head gives me major anxiety.
