Burned 2 weekends on a cheap capacitor tester that lied to me
Picked up one of those $25 component testers off Amazon to speed up my fridge callouts. It kept showing capacitors as good when they were clearly swollen at the base. Wasted two full Saturdays chasing a compressor start issue on a Whirlpool, swapped every part except the cap. Finally brought my Fluke meter in and it caught the bad cap in 30 seconds. Anyone else had a budget tool send them down a rabbit hole?

Did you ever check that cheap tester against a known good cap before you trusted it, or did it just become your new best friend on sight? I'm curious what it took for you to finally grab the Fluke.
