TIL that some anime switch voice actors between seasons

It kinda ruins the consistency for long time fans.

Back in the day, I didn't mind when shows swapped out voice actors. I figured the story was what really counted. Then my favorite anime brought in a new voice for the lead role, and it just didn't sound right at all. It pulled me out of the show and made the character feel unfamiliar. Now I totally see how that break in consistency can spoil the experience for longtime viewers. Have you ever stopped watching a series because the recasting was too distracting?

Wow, you stopped watching your favorite show over that? That's how bad it got? I get it though, the voice is half the character. Once that connection breaks, it's just some stranger talking. I tried to stick with a show after a recast once and spent every episode just feeling annoyed. Never finished it.

Seriously, I felt the exact same way once it happened to me.
