The anime club I joined went from 5 members to 45 in one semester, here's what changed
I run a small anime club at the library in Akron, Ohio. Last January we had 5 people showing up, mostly the same three guys who argued about mecha shows. Then one week I brought a projector instead of using my laptop screen, and suddenly people could actually see the animation details. After that, I started a voting system for what we watch, and someone suggested we do themed snacks. By March we had 45 people crammed into the room, and now we need to split into two sessions. The weird part is the vibe flipped too, people actually talk during the show instead of just staring at their phones. Has anyone else seen a club take off like that after one small change, or was it just luck with timing?

Projector was probably the biggest win, not luck. Phone screens kill any sense of watching something together.
