Showerthought: Figuring out why my anime downloads kept failing took me 3 hours

I spent all Saturday trying to download a new series from a fansub group and it kept stopping at 73 percent every time. Tried resetting my router, switching browsers, even reinstalling my torrent client. Turned out my antivirus was flagging the folder as suspicious and blocking the write access. Has anyone else had a dumb software setting waste half their day?

Man that sucks, what antivirus was it? I had a similar thing with Windows Defender where it decided my entire torrents folder was a threat out of nowhere. Did you check the logs or just stumble on it by accident?

Had that exact thing happen with Bitdefender last month. Just found out when I went to open a file and it was already gone.
