I found a hidden anime mural in the alley behind my local comic shop

I was cutting through the alley behind Comic Cave in Springfield yesterday to avoid the rain. I've walked that way maybe a hundred times, but I finally looked up at the back wall of the building. Someone painted a full mural of the cast from 'Cowboy Bebop' looking out a spaceship window, and it's honestly amazing. The detail on Spike's hair and Faye's jacket is spot on, and they even got Ein the dog in the corner. It's not signed, so I have no idea who did it or when. It made me think about how anime art shows up in the most random places, not just at cons or in stores. Has anyone else stumbled on cool, unofficial anime art like this in their town?

That bit about looking up after a hundred walks is so true. I once tripped over a curb staring at a Totoro someone stenciled on a dumpster. The best stuff is always in the weird spots, like a perfect Ghibli character next to a parking meter or a faded Dragon Ball Z scene on a bridge support. It’s like a little prize for actually paying attention to your surroundings for once.

Do you think the artist left it unsigned on purpose, like a secret for people to find?
