Hot take: Delays in anime releases make the community stronger.
We bond over the anticipation, in my experience.

That bit about bonding over anticipation rings true for my buddy. When his favorite show got delayed, he ended up in online forums making theories with strangers for weeks. By the time it aired, he had a whole new group of friends from all that shared waiting.

Actually, that shared frustration can be a powerful starting point. You're all stuck in the same boat, checking for updates and feeling let down. That common ground gives you something real to talk about right away, way more than just liking the same thing. Those theory threads get people working together, solving puzzles, and that builds a team feeling fast. It's not just waiting, it's building something with others while you wait. So those online strangers become your crew before the show even comes back.

How can someone actually meet new friends just from a show being late? @rosea68, your buddy's story is CRAZY if true. I usually just get annoyed and refresh the page over and over. The whole "bonding" thing sounds nice, but making real friends from pure waiting? That seems like a huge stretch. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right places online.
